A musical journey through the heights and depths of imaginary landscapes, where the sounds emerging from the yodelling voice and fiddle evolve with the ever-changing realm of forests, seasides, fields and clouds, which in turn are shaped by the music.

Described as 'one of the most creative artists on the Irish music scene today' (Dr. Mel Mercier- Irish World Academy Limerick), Austrian born, Irish resident violinist, singer and composer Claudia Schwab amalgamates different traditions and styles, such as traditional Austrian, Irish and Classical Indian in her own, very unique way.
The song “Like Lisa” was released on her debut solo album “Amber Sands” in 2014, brought to motion by award-winning animation writer/director Jane Lee, with drawings by Sligo based artist Lisa Cannon.

Claudia Schwab is a highly trained violinist/vocalist/composer based in Ireland. Her musical journey brought her from classical orchestras in her native Austria to a profound involvement with Irish traditional music, experimental and loop composition since moving here in 2005. As a student at UCC, she started her own solo project and her debut solo album “Amber Sands” was launched shortly after her MA graduation (April 2014). In October 2016, she launched her first EP “Attic Mornings” (special edition on vinyl), followed by the full second solo album in February 2017.

Amber Sands […] an ear-grabbingly unusual and most stimulating ride that’s pretty much unforgettable (David Kidman, FATEA magazine).

Stomping rhythms, fiery reels, consoling Indian raags and funk- beat yodelling entice the listener to follow the musicians to the holy river ganges, the West coast of Ireland, over to remote villages in Bulgaria, Swedish forests and alpine pastures in Austria. A unique and atmospheric blend of Irish, Indian, Swedish and Eastern European music styles overlaid with her native Austrian yodelling, Schwab´s music reflects her passion for people, place, and their associated music. The self- released album has received impressive reviews by magazines such as FATEA (“pretty much unforgettable... genuinely irresistible”), Folkworld (“she makes Yodel music modern and happening”), Songlines and fRoots (“crazy and yet strangely attractive”) and features regularly on Irish national radio (The Blue of The Night LyricFM, Dan Hegarty 2FM).

Alongside her own solo project, Claudia works with a range of internationally renowned artists. Current projects include collaborations with German Jazz legend Matthias Schriefl, Austrian string trio Netnakisum, accordionist, singer & dancer Hannah James (UK), Scottish fiddle-singer Kate Young (aka "Kate in the Kettle"), the "Craic Addicts" (IRE),  and the Irish Gamelan Orchestra.
