Single-Use Plastic-free: Bring your own reusable water bottle and/or cup!
Plastic pollution is one of the primary threats to our planet.
In the United States, less than 8% of post-consumer plastic is recycled. The rest of this plastic waste ends up in landfills, along roadsides or in our rivers and oceans. Better sorting of recyclables at home would help, but the fact is that not all plastic or other materials that we think of as recyclable can actually be recycled.
A better solution is to REDUCE OUR USE
We have been working in Flagstaff since 2016, and have worked with community members to kickstart so many initiatives.
The Azulita Project’s programs focus on plastic recapture, consumer education and reducing plastics usage with businesses, schools, organizations and community members. We work internationally, supporting ocean-bound plastic recapture along Mexico’s Pacific shoreline, and running community education programs in Flagstaff, Arizona.
?Our multimedia educational programs reach students of all ages. We create learning opportunities for people to rethink plastics consumption, discover reusable alternatives to single-use disposables, and explore effective recycling to keep resources out of landfills.
