Hannah Heaton

Hannah Heaton is an artist raised from the soil of science who uses creative expression as a method for increasing awareness of self in relationship to surroundings.

Her creative process typically begins with field studies of a specific site, including meditative observation and listening, plein air painting, botanical identification, movement sketches, and working with pigments from clay, plants, and insects on that land. From these studies and materials she builds a visual image in the form of a mixed media painting on canvas, as an offering of reverence and prayer to the more than human members of that ecosystem.
