“Finn has every reason to hate the body he’s been given, but instead he’s one of the most joyful people I’ve ever met,” says Ethan Sheets of his eldest son. Born without half his brain, Finn lives with Cerebral Palsy, the most common motor disability. He will never walk or talk without assistance. After his diagnosis, Ethan and his wife Kasey let go of the future they had envisioned for Finn, but in its place a new reality, both difficult and beautiful, emerged. From the earliest days, his parents witnessed a change in Finn when they took him hiking. Even as they grapple with what the future holds, the Sheets family finds their form of happiness, right in their backyard. Hard roads can be happy.
