Deidra Peaches

Deidra Peaches is a Diné filmmaker, director, cinematographer, editor, and writer. She works with Meg, Oakley, Shonri, and Sara and helps us tell our stories as well as mentoring aspiring young film makers. Her documentary Shimásaní premiered at the 2009 Imaginative Film Festival. In 2011, she co-produced and co-edited The Rocket Boy, which was selected for Sundance. Peaches co-founded Paper Rocket Productions, which released Tó éí iiná át’é in 2013, premiering in Paris. In 2014, she documented a canoe journey with Project 562. In 2015, Paper Rocket hosted workshops across the Navajo Reservation, producing 15 short films. Peaches also documented the early COVID-19 impact on Navajo communities in 2020 and founded DLP Productions LLC. Recently, she created short documentaries about the Grand Canyon and Little Colorado River, available through Voices of the Grand Canyon and Lifeways of the Little Colorado River. Her latest short film, Before The Leaves, was completed in 2024 after overcoming a setback from a hard drive crash. She is currently in pre-production on an upcoming short narrative, Holding Hands.
