2020 Student Programs

The Student Program remains one of Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival’s core endeavors, fulfilling our educational mission of connecting local students to films that entertain, educate and inspire while highlighting important social, cultural, political, and environmental issues. This year, the program has continued to grow and we are hosting more middle and high schools.

The Shepherdess

On February 13th and 14th, our local students will have the unique opportunity to travel the world and be exposed to different cultures and issues that they may never have known about. We’ve compiled over 20 films to introduce students to various social and environmental topics. We see individuals overcome disability and follow their passions in “Man of the Trees” and “Out on a Limb.” In the ‘Legend of Rafael,” we follow an individual who gives the gift of cycling to underprivileged members of his community. In “The Shepherdess” students will understand what it means to be resilient in the face of environmental changes disrupting our way of life. In “Dear Johnny Reb” our students will become more aware of our continued fight against racism, bigotry and prejudice and learn how we can make a difference.

The Mighty Finn

FMFF is once again offering the Traveling Student Program to address the needs of our local schools. Sinagua Middle School will host films on-campus, therefore providing a unique educational and cinematic experience for their students.

A heartfelt thank you is extended to ALL educators throughout Flagstaff who make magic happen in our schools on a daily basis!
